These are on Facebook, so I can’t post the actual photos, but you should check out photographer Larry Schwarm’s images of artist Randy Rieger’s installation/toy store, Nu Penny. The interior of the shop is rendered entirely in photographic grayscale, which gives the pictures of the work an extra layer of interest and complexity. Each toy is constructed of repurposed parts; each alludes to a twentieth-century poem, song lyric, or other piece of literature. I can’t wait to go back and try to figure out the references.

Nu Penny is located at 1714 E Douglas in Wichita, Kansas. The installation will be up for four months.
